ESPN Take Back Sports Innovation Challenge Winner

We’re proud to share that Mudsock Youth Athletics has been selected as a 2025 winner of the ESPN Take Back Sports Innovation Challenge. With the support of ESPN Citizenship, our Youth Action Board is taking bold steps to reshape the culture of youth sports by reducing outside pressures, prioritizing athlete well-being, and putting fun back at the center of the experience.

Big Things Coming This Spring

We’re gearing up for two exciting events you won’t want to miss! First, a large-scale Try-It Day (April 26th) where kids in kindergarten through 6th grade can explore new sports and discover what they love. Youth sports shouldn’t feel like a job. Our board is speaking out about the pressure, the burnout, and the unrealistic expectations coming from the sidelines. It's not about perfection. It’s about development, connection, and joy.

The Youth Action Board’s mission is to put the fun back into rec sports. Through education, advocacy, and leadership, they’re working to reshape the culture - one where athletes can:

Make mistakes without fear,

Try multiple sports without judgment,

And grow not just as players, but as people.
