Scholarships

Does Mudsock Youth Athletics offer financial assistance for registration fees?

Yes, MYAthletics does offer financial assistance to families currently receiving free/reduced lunch through the Hamilton Southeastern School district or would otherwise qualify for that program as a Fishers resident, but attending a different school. If qualified, MYAthletics offers assistance via its scholarship program. MYAthletics will provide one scholarship per child, per season during open registration. If you qualify for free lunch, MYAthletics will provide a scholarship in the form of 100% of the registration fees once per child, per season during open registration. If you qualify for reduced lunch, MYAthletics will provide a scholarship in the form of 50% of the registration fees once per child, per season during open registration.

Open Registration Periods:
Spring - January 1-31
Fall - May 1-31
Winter - August 1-31

Participants must submit their current or reduced lunch approval form from the Hamilton Southeastern School District to the MYAthletics office prior to end of open registration in order to qualify.


Baseball


When is Spring baseball season?  

Opening day is scheduled for April 24th for the 2021 spring season.

Spring season runs from late March thru early/late June depending on the league. Leagues include

PK, K, 1st/2nd, 3rd
/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th and High School.

When is Fall baseball season?

Fall Season runs from Mid-August to Early Oct. Games are on Sunday only.

Leagues include 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th/6th and 7th
/8th/9th

 Do I need to attend Spring evaluations?

The leagues are divided into 3 categories:  Red, White, and Blue. Athletes will be placed in divisions according to skill level and the number of divisions may vary each year and by age group. To be considered for Red or White, you must attend evaluations. If you choose not to evaluate, you will be placed in Blue.

What equipment do I need?

Baseball glove, baseball cleats, baseball pants. The league will provide bats, if you do not have one, helmets, baseballs and first aid kits. Baseball jersey, cap and socks are included with your registration fee.

Effective spring 2021, any USA Certified Bat may be used in rec league play. USSSA Bats are not allowed for use in rec league play. A link to approved bats which may be used in rec league game play can be found here.

What is the time commitment?

 In general, your team will meet twice a week, usually a weekday and Saturday.

 Do you offer travel baseball?

 Yes!  We offer travel baseball for grades 1-8.  Our teams are known as the Fishers Express.  Try-outs for 8U-14U are generally held in August, with 7U in January. For more information, please visit https://baseball.myathletics.com/ and click on the Fishers Express-Travel tab.     

     
Boys Basketball

When is boys basketball season?

The season runs from mid-November thru mid-March.

What grades can participate?

Boys basketball is offered for grades K-8th.  MYAthletics also helps with the registration for HSE and FHS intramural basketball leagues.

Do I need to attend evaluations?

Evaluations are not mandatory, but highly recommended for grades 2nd-6th.  The leagues are divided into two conferences, the Eastern, (more competitive), and the Western, (less competitive).  To be considered for the Eastern conference, you must attend evaluations. 

What equipment do I need?

Basketball shorts and shoes.  The league does provide jerseys.  You may also bring your own basketball, though some will be provided.

What size ball do I need?

K-6th: 28.5”
JH-HS: 29.5”

What is the time commitment?

 In general, teams meet twice a week, one weekday with games on Saturday.

Do you offer boys travel basketball?

 Yes!  We offer boys travel basketball for grades 3rd - 6th. The season begins in October and ends in early-mid Spring.  Try-outs are held in the fall.

What is the time commitment for travel?

Girls Basketball

When is girls basketball season?

Girls Basketball runs from Mid-November thru early March.

Who can participate?

Girls basketball is offered for grades K-8th. 

Do I need to attend evaluations?

The league does not hold evaluations but rather divides players fairly among teams based off performance in prior seasons. 

What is the time commitment?

In general, teams meet twice a week, one weekday with games on Saturday.

What equipment do I need?

Basketball shorts and shoes. The league provides jerseys. You may also bring your own basketball, though some will be provided.

What size ball do I need?

K / 1st Grade: Junior size (27.5’)
2nd-8th Grade: Intermediate size (28.5”)

Do you offer girls travel basketball?

Yes! We offer travel basketball for girls in 3rd-6th grades.

What is the time commitment for travel?

Cheer

When is the cheer season?

Practices begin in early August, with the season wrapping up mid-late October.

What grades can participate in cheer?

Graces K-6 can participate.

 What teams do we cheer for?

Cheerleaders cheer for the 4th-6th grade MYAthletics recreational tackle football teams.

 What is the time commitment?

 Practices are one day during the week, usually the same day, and games are on Saturday.

 Are uniforms included in registration?

Uniforms are not included with registration and they are required.  There will be 2 fitting dates in June and they MUST be ordered by July. Ordering information will be provided at the fittings.

What are All-Stars?

This is approx. a two-week program for 2-3 girls picked from each squad based on attendance, participation and sportsmanship. They will cheer for the all-stars teams, which will also involve travel. Cost is $40 per girl to cover bows and poms.

Do you have a travel Cheer program?

The MYAthletics cheer league offers a travel program for 5th and 6th graders in support of the travel football team known as The Knights. Please visit https://cheer.myathletics.com/ for more information.


Football

What grades can participate in MYAthletics recreational football?

Flag football is offered for grades K-2nd, while rookie tackle is offered for 3rd grade, modified tackle for 4th and, standard tackle for 5th/6th grade.

What is the time commitment?

Please check the calendar tab at https://football.myathletics.com/ for the most up-to-date times and dates as the season approaches. 

Summer Conditioning:

Football is a unique league with a voluntary summer conditioning camp offered to all registered participants during the month of June, two evenings a week. It is strongly recommended to help your child get in shape and get used to the heat. 

Mini-Camps:

During mid-July, 3rd-6th grades will be required to attend mini-camps for 3 nights with mandatory evaluations following. If a player is unable to attend, they will be placed in a blind draft.

Tackle Practices/Games:

Prior to the first game, each team is permitted 10 practices, no more than 3x a week. No Sunday practices after games begin. No more than 2 practices per week is allowed after the first game. There will be a two-hour time limit for all practices. 

Flag Practices/Games:

1-2 practices a week with games on Saturday.

 What equipment do I need?

Flag:
Shorts, rubber cleats, (recommended), and a mouthpiece.  Game jersey and flags will be provided by the league.

Tackle:
Shoulder pads and helmet, provided by the league with a $250 deposit.  There will be at least 5 equipment pick up dates in June/July.  Players MUST be present at equipment handouts to ensure proper fitting.

Game jersey, socks and helmet decals are provided by the league.  Players are responsible for practice pants/pads, mouthpieces, and non-metal cleats.

Do you offer travel football?

Yes! The Mudsock Youth Football League offers a travel football program, The Knights, for 5th  and 6th graders. Try-outs are held in November following the recreational football season. Please visit https://football.myathletics.com/ for more information.

What are All-Stars?

All-Stars is a program offered to players in 3rd - 6th grades nominated by their coach to extend their season to include the local All-Star tournament.  They will be competing against “border” communities. Boys Lacrosse

When is the boys lacrosse season?

There are callout meetings in January and February. The season begins right after Spring Break and ends in late May.

What age groups are there?

Includes those players in grades 1-8

Leagues include:
8U (6 & 7 years old)             12U (10 & 11 years old) 
10U (9 & 10 years old)        14U ( 12 & 13 years old)
Birthdates are based on a September 1, 2019 to August, 31, 2020 calendar

*Players in 8th grade but older than 14 are grandfathered into the 14U with a waiver.

What equipment is needed?

Chest and shoulder pads, helmet, stick, gloves, cleats, athletic cup and mouth guard.

Are there any other fees to play?

Yes, all players must have a US Lacrosse membership. You can signup at www.usalacrosse.org 

Is there only recreational play?

No. There is a Select league that has call outs in December and January. This league is a mix of recreational and players with stronger skills that want to have some travel experience.

There is also Travel league. Callouts are held in December with tryouts in January. The season runs February to late May. This league is for those with advanced skills.

Girls Lacrosse

When is the Spring girls lacrosse season?

Spring season runs from late March through the end of May for U10, U12 and U14. The U8 league will start the second week in April.

What age groups are there?

Players in grades 1-8

Leagues include:
8U (6 & 7 years old)             12U (10 & 11 years old) 
10U (9 & 10 years old)        14U ( 12 & 13 years old)
Birth dates are based on a September 1, 2020 to August, 31, 2021 calendar

What equipment is needed?

Girls lacrosse stick and goggles, mouth guard (cannot be white) and cleats

Are there any other fees to play?

Yes, all players must have a US Lacrosse membership. You can sign up at www.usalacrosse.org. There is a $75 uniform deposit and a $75 volunteer deposit that the league will collect from you.

 What is the time commitment?

10U, 12U and 14U will practice 2 times a week for 1.5 hours and 8-10 games. 8U will practice 1 time a week for 7-8 times on Sunday late afternoons.

Rugby

When is rugby season?

Practices are scheduled to start in late February or early March. They will be several times per week and determined by coaches. Games are generally on Saturday. The season will wrap up in late May.

Who can participate?

Co-ed flag league is for grades 2nd/3rd/4th , and co-ed tackle is for grades 5th/6th. Girls and Boys tackle leagues are for 7th/8th grades.

What does my child need to play Rugby?

For 2/3/4 Flag: Cleats, no metal allowed. Shorts and T-shirt provided
Co-ed 5/6 Tackle: Cleats, no metal allowed. Shorts, socks and custom SISU mouth guard provided
Girls 7/8 Tackle: Cleats, no metal allowed. Shorts, socks and custom SISU mouth guard provided
Boys 7/8 Tackle: Cleats, no metal allowed. Jacket, pants, practice jersey, monogrammed backpack, shorts, socks, and custom SISU mouth guard included.

Soccer

When is the spring soccer season?

The spring 2021 soccer season runs from April 12th - May 22nd. 

Who can play (spring 2021)?

Boys and girls age 4 by 12/31/20 in grades PK-8th. 

When is the fall soccer season? 

The fall 2021 soccer season is August 2nd - October 10th. The 7th/8th and high school divisions will run through October 31st. 

Who can play (fall 2021)? 

Boys and girls age 4 by 7/31/21 in grades
 PK - High School. 

What equipment is needed?

The league will supply you with shorts, shirts and socks. You should also bring plenty of water.

You will need shin guards, footwear, age appropriate ball PK-2nd 
grade size 3, 3rd to 6th grade size 4 ball and 7th and up is a size 5 ball. 

 What is the time commitment?

In general, you will meet 2 times weekly with 6 practices and 6 games (spring) and 8 practices and 8 games (fall) along with a season ending tournament for 3rd grade - high school.   

 Is there a travel program?

Softball

When is Spring softball season?

Opening day is Saturday, April 17th.

Spring season runs from late March thru mid/late June. Leagues include 5/6, 8U, 10U, 12U 14U and High School.

When is Fall softball season?

Fall season runs from mid-August thru Mid-October.  Leagues include 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U 

Are Spring evaluations mandatory?

 Evaluations are not mandatory, but recommended to assist the league with competitive balance.

What equipment do I need?

Spring Season: Softball pants, cleats and face mask. Helmets, bats and ball are provided. Jersey, visor and socks are included in your registration fee.

Fall season: Teams are provided a t-shirt as part of their registration fee.

 What is the time commitment?

Spring Season: In general, your team will meet twice a week, usually a weekday and Saturday
Fall Season: one non-mandatory practice during the week, with games on Sunday.

What is the All-Star program?
The All-Star program is designed for girls who want to get a taste for travel. It is open for all girls in our rec leagues 8U-14U. For additional information visit: https://softball.myathletics.com/, click on rec leagues, then All-Stars.

Do you have a travel softball program?

 Yes! Our travel softball program is referred to as The Cats, for divisions 10U, 12U and 14U. For more information please visit https://softball.myathletics.com/ and click on the Cats travel tab.

Track and Cross Country

What is The Fire?

The Fire is the name given to the Mudsock Youth Athletics track and field and cross-country programs.

Who can participate?

Runners in grades 1st 
thru high school can participate.  We do allow exceptions for younger runners, so please email the league at [email protected].

When is track season?

Track season runs from mid-April through early July, with Regional and National qualifiers able to compete through July.

When is XC season?

Cross country season begins in early September and runs through early November, with Regional and National qualifiers able to complete into December.

What do I need to participate?

Athletes will receive a link to order track shorts and tanks prior to the season. Track and field and XC utilize the same uniforms  and participants can re-use/hand down uniforms from season to season. Participants are responsible for running shoes and spikes.

When are practices?

Practices for track and field and XC are held at Riverside School unless otherwise notified. They are Monday and Thursday from 6-7:30 pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11:30 am. 

Volleyball

When is girls volleyball season?

The season runs from early August thru early October.

 Who can participate?

Girls in grades 4th-8th can participate.

Are evaluations mandatory?

 Not for the recreational league. Evaluations are mandatory for girls interested in trying out for the competitive division, no exceptions. 

What is the competitive division? (please note there will be no competitive division for the 2021 fall season)

 It is open for girls in 5th and 6th grade only who want a more challenging volleyball experience. The teams will compete against each other during the season.  The girls will NOT be on a recreational team. Practice and game information is the same as the recreational division.  No players will be permitted to play up into the 5th and 6th grade competitive division.

What is the time commitment?

 Practices are once during the week with games on Saturday.

What equipment do I need?

The uniform jersey is provided by the league. The players are responsible for black spandex/shorts, knee pads, and gym shoes.

Field Hockey

When is the field hockey season? 

The season runs from early August until the first week of October. 

Who can participate?  


Beginning fall 2021, field hockey is a co-ed offering. Girls and boys in 2nd - 11th grade are invited to play. 

What is the time commitment?

Practices are once during the week with games on Saturdays. 

What equipment do I need? 

Mudsock Field Hockey will provide a jersey. Players are responsible for shin guards, mouth guards, athletics shoes/cleats and a field hockey stick.  

Field Hockey Sticks - for new players, the field hockey starter package includes a field hockey stick and ball. The league will also host a "Field Hockey Day" for returning players to purchase sticks and additional equipment as well as buyback and swap their old equipment. Coaches will be onsite to size athletes.
